この教科書の読み物は、オンラインの読解補助ツールが使えるように、ウェブサイト上でも読めるようになっています。読解補助ツールを使って多くの読み物を読むことで、実践的な読解力を身につけましょう。

In order to enable learners to use online reading support tools, the reading materials in the textbook are also available to read on this website. The goal is for learners to acquire practical reading comprehension skills by reading a lot of text using support tools.

1. ポップアップ辞書

ポップアップ辞書というのは、カーソルを単語の上に動かすと意味や漢字の読み方を教えてくれるツールです。単語の意味や漢字の読み方が簡単に調べられるので、学習者は読解の作業に集中することが出来ます。下のリンクから有名なポップアップ辞書が見られるので、一番好きなポップアップ辞書を使って下さい。

1. Pop-up Dictionaries

Pop-up dictionaries are tools that give the kanji reading and meaning of a word when you move the cursor over it. Learners can concentrate on comprehending passages because they can easily check each word as they go. Below are links to a few famous pop-up dictionaries, so please use whichever you see most fit.

読解補助ツールは正しく使えば日本語の読解力の向上に役に立ちますが、コンピュータに日本語の文を翻訳させても学習者の日本語学習には何の意味もありません。ポップアップ辞書の機能がある読解補助ツールの中には、文や段落を翻訳する機能もあるツールがありますが、この教科書で学習する時は、読解補助ツールは主に単語や表現、漢字の意味や発音を調べるために使い、文法的な要素（文の構造や助詞の役割、活用や時制など）は自分で考えるようにしましょう。自分の学習の役に立つ読解補助ツールの使い方と自分の学習の役に立たない使い方とを区別するようにして下さい。

Warning: Making the reading support tool translate sentences is not allowed!

If used correctly, reading support tools are useful in improving Japanese reading comprehension skills. However, in regards to a student’s learning of Japanese, there is no point in making a computer translate Japanese sentences. In the reading support tools with pop-up dictionary functions, there are tools that also have sentence and paragraph translating functions. However, while learning with this textbook, please use the reading support tools primarily for checking vocabulary, expressions, and kanji’s meaning and pronunciation. It is important that you analyze the grammatical components (sentence structures, roles of particles, conjugations, tenses, etc.) yourself. Please be sure to differentiate between the helpful way and unhelpful way to use reading support tools for your own learning.

 

2. オンライン辞書

日本語は漢字を使うので、発音から単語を調べる辞書を使うのが難しい言語です。しかし、この教科書の読み物はウェブサイトでも読めるので、調べたい単語をコピーすれば、簡単にオンライン辞書を使うことが出来ます。下のオンライン辞書は、単語の意味や読み方だけでなく、各漢字の意味や部首など、色々な情報を教えてくれます。

2. Online Dictionaries

Since Japanese uses kanji, it is hard to use a dictionary where you search for words by their pronunciation. Yet, because this textbook’s reading materials can also be read on its website, you can copy the word you want to search and easily use an online dictionary. The online dictionary below provides you with various information regarding not only word meanings and readings of kanji vocabulary words, but also the meanings and radicals for each individual kanji.
